TEACHER ON LEAVE

(PALMYRA)--A Palmyra High School teacher is on paid administrative leave as of Sunday as school district and law enforcement officials investigate allegations of inappropriate activity between the teacher and a student. Palmyra R-1 Superintendant Eric Churchwell says authorities notified him of the allegations on Sunday and the teacher was immediately placed on leave.

Churchwell says they’re cooperating with law enforcement and Missouri Social Service Children's Division during this investigation. Sergeant Brent Bernhardt of the Missouri Highway Patrol in Macon would only say that his agency is investigating allegations involving a Marion County juvenile.
